From the Canadian movie "I Am A Hotel" (1983) it contains some of the best LC's songs. Written by Leonard Cohen and Mark Shekter, produced by Allan Nichols for Blue Memorial Video Ltd. Filmed at the King Edward Hotel, Toronto. The video won the Golden Rose international television award in Montreux,...The previously posted video was taken down, sorry for not noticing the malfunctioning link. Have reposted it here again for you fans.

The Heiligenstadt Testament is a letter written by Ludwig van Beethoven to his brothers Carl and Johann at Heiligenstadt, Vienna on 10/6/1802. It reflects his despair over his increasing deafness and his desire to overcome his physical and emotional ailments in order to complete his artistic destiny. Beethoven kept the document hidden for the rest of his life, and probably never showed it to anyone. It was discovered in March 1827, after Beethoven's death, by Anton Schindler and Stephan von Breuning, who had it published the following October.A curiosity is that, blank spaces are left where Johann's name should appear. There have been numerous proposed explanations for this; from Beethoven's uncertainty as to whether Johann's full name (Nikolaus Johann) should be used on this quasi-legal document, to his mixed feelings of attachment to his brothers, to transference of his lifelong hatred of the boys' alcoholic, abusive father (ten years dead in 1802), also named Johann.

The War of Words in America. The Blogger Revolution; Street Corner Philosophers, Et Al.
There should be some limits. It's getting childish and downright, self-destructively Un-American. I am afraid the very people, who were responsible for the pickle we are in now, are using us, to get back into a position of power and control so that they can resume looting and pillaging of our nation. The pattern is clear; incite discontent, incite to hatred, and internal strife to win back power under the pretext of returning our country to us the rightful owners; The People. In reality, once in control of the levers of power, they simple serve their real masters; Greed, Power and Ego. The politicians are the tools of the Corporations and the Landed Gentry. Are we that ignorant, to be distracted, like little monkeys, obsessed with a shiny object, while they steal the country from us. They are using Divide and Conquer, Jingoism and McCarthyism.
One who is not liberal in his youth has no heart. One who is not conservative in old age does not have a brain. "Can we all just get along?" (Rodney King, Philosopher). Freedom of Speech should be moderated by protections against defamation and hate.
McCarthyism depended on defamation of character, guilt by association, accusations of treason and other false or scurilous charges to put rivals on the defensive. The Constitutional protections from Guilt by Association are only protections from official Governent action. Congressional hearings and public trials led by Senator Joseph McCarthy were eventually stopped by Constitutional protections. However, Freedom of Speech and Free Press also make protection from scurilous attacks by irresponsible Media, Bloggers and individual demagogues only remediable by civil suits against Libel, Slander and Defamation. Some street corner philosophers, in the guise of Bloggers may be a refreshing respite from a corrupt, irresponsible and partial press, BUT, irresponsible citizens with an axe to grind and no concern for their country, can be just as dangerous to our freedom and liberty as a rogue US Senator and a compliant, sellout press.
Isn't anyone concerned that this war of words and attacks on each other can leave us with a country whose freedoms are suspended or destroyed and deliver us into the hands of Despots and Demagogues who serve not us, but their own selfish quest for power, control and wealth. We must stand together and unify, to regain control of the country by the people, for the people. We must stand together to achieve redress of our grievances, injustices and theft by the power elite. We must bring them to justice and clawback the ill-gotten gains and return the wealth to us. We won't win that by waging war on each other instead the rightfully guilty.
Stop the insanity and self-destructiveness and work together to bring this country back to its greatness and prosperity. The guilty should be brought to justice legally and not with street justice. We are playing into the hands of the demagogues, by attacking the straw men they put in front of us to mislead and misdirect our rage. We know the imbalance of wealth and power in this nation was achieved by devilish clever deceit and lies. Let's not fall into the same corrupt trap to win back justice. Our just rage should be directed at the guilty not at each other.

The error in not knowing your history; you are forever condemned to repeat it.
Rules for Leaders
1. Enemies Lie. Disinformation and Deception are weapons of war. If they are willing to destroy us, they will lie. Don't be surprised, TRUST, BUT VERIFY.
2. Peace through strength. Unilateral disarmament invites adventures against your nation. Avoid conflict by preparation for war.
3. A young President will be tested. Jan 1961 JFK is inaugurated. Oct 1962 we are surprised by missiles 90 miles off our shores placed by Nikita Khruschev.
4. National Security is the No. One burden. Economic strength is America's primary power. We were the arsenal of Freedom for England and Soviet Union in WW II. We need to make our nation self-sufficient in Energy and War Production (domestic manufacturing).
4. National Unity is key strength in projecting power. Do not allow our enemies to divide and conquer.
5. Do not strike the Iranian people. Win their hearts and minds and the enemy will be destroyed from within.
The regime of revolutionary Mullahs is extremely vulnerable to dissention and internal revolt. Support that dissent.

Can Journalism be resusitated? Who will take heroic measures to bring it back to life? Are we better off decentralizing the power of the press? Can bloggers and the impromptu media on the net ensure journalistic standards of honesty, balance, impartiality and a crusading zeal for the truth? Probably NOT! But, it seems that the standards of the Media have backslid so far, that presumably, decentralizing the medie couldn't be THAT BAD! Muddy Souls Video: Mesmerizing Music with a Message
I think everyone should listen the music of Muddy Souls. Enjoy the tunes but give a listen to the words.
I like their music because its' lyrics deal with controversial, contemporary issues in a non-partisan way, set to the melody of classic artists like Bob Dylan, Donovan, and the Beatles in a soothing country/rock/rap voice that appeals across the spectrum demographically. I think it should be a topic of study in the class rooms of the mass media/communications professors everywhere (not excluding St John Fisher and Monroe Comm Coll, Tom!!!).
The Music (media) is the most effective way to get the Message (a la Marshall McLuhan) out in a non-hateful, divisive way and most likely to effectively unify people in dealing with the sad state of affairs currently existing in the country. This is where the current national media has failed in fulfilling their fourth-estate civic-duty, instead pursuing sensationalistic stories to maximize advertizing revenues and thereby ensuring big fat journalistic salaries. Go Muddy Souls and Cody Willard, you ARE GENIUS.
